Enhancements
This release focuses on Purchase Requests, House Area management, making Selections more resilient to incomplete setup, and bringing Lot Ledger Entries into the standard Find Entries workflow.
Purchase Requests
This release continues to build out Purchase Request functionality — the changes below make it faster to manage, print, and email requests, and easier to navigate.
Reorganized actions. The actions on the Purchase Request Card and Purchase Requests pages have been reorganized to improve navigation and better align with standard Business Central design patterns.
Release multiple Purchase Requests at once. On the Purchase Requests page, you can now select multiple Purchase Requests and release them all in a single step — no need to open and release each one individually.
Fewer interruptions when releasing. When you release a Purchase Request that has a line with a Unit Cost of zero, HomeBuilder no longer asks you to confirm the creation of a planning line. The system handles it quietly and keeps you moving.
New print options. You now have three ways to print a Purchase Request:
- Print with Costs (the original "Print" action, renamed)
- Print without Costs (new)
- Print Internal (new)
New email options. You now have four ways to email a Purchase Request:
- Send by Email with Costs (formerly "Send by Email")
- Send by Email with Costs Silently (formerly "Send by Email Silently")
- Send by Email w/o Costs (new)
- Send by Email w/o Costs Silently (new)
Email scenarios have been added for the Purchase Request No Cost and Purchase Request Internal reports.
Deletion of House Areas from Items, Item Categories, Models, and Lots
Previously, deleting a House Area could silently remove related records in other tables — leaving gaps in your data you might not notice until later. HomeBuilder now puts you in control of that process.
When you delete one or more House Areas from an Item, Model, or Lot, HomeBuilder:
- Displays a confirmation dialog (once) if any of the deleted House Areas are referenced by records in other tables.
- Deletes the selected House Areas after you confirm. For Models and Lots, their associated House Area Measurement records are removed at the same time.
- Does not automatically delete records in other tables that reference those House Areas — for example, Model Items, Selection Options, Lot Selection Choices, Planning Lines, or Work Order Lines.
To remove referencing records in a controlled way, run the House Area Cleanup action for the affected Items, Models, or Lots. This action is now available on Construction Items, Construction Item Card, Models, Model Card, Lots, and Lot Card. It opens the House Area Cleanup page, where you select the tables to clean up. When you select OK, HomeBuilder removes only the records it can safely delete — for example, it will not remove Planning Lines that have been posted or Work Order Lines belonging to completed Work Orders.
Selections of upgrades and extras
Gaps in your setup no longer stop you from completing a selection. HomeBuilder now works around missing Items, Models, or configuration rather than blocking the process.
- If you select a Measurement-priced Item on a Lot House Area that isn't defined on the Model, HomeBuilder now picks up the Quantity from the Lot House Area — no need to set it up on the Model first.
- Bundle light Items now generate their additional choices automatically — a matching Model Additional Item is no longer required.
- You can now release a selection package even when a Model Item record is missing for one of the selected Items.
- You can now delete an additional choice on a bundle light Item even when it's marked as mandatory.
- The Vendor Contract No. column has been added to the Lot Selection Choices and Choice Components pages.
- The Vendor No. and Vendor Contract No. fields are now editable before a package is released, provided you have the CAN UPDATE SELECTION COSTS function permission.
- When you release a package, the Vendor No. and Vendor Contract No. values are automatically carried through from choices and choice components to the corresponding planning lines.
- The Vendor Contract No. field has been added to the Package Work Planning and Lot Selection Choices (All) pages.
- The Color Selections page now includes two new columns: Default Item No. and Default Variant Code. You can see the default option directly on this page without opening the Selection Options action (which has been deprecated). Use the Set Default action to assign defaults from the available options, or Clear Defaults to remove them.
- Three flow-field columns — No. of Choices, No. of POEs, and No. of Planning Lines — have been added to the Lot Selection Packages page. Each shows a count you can click to open the related records.
Navigation to Lot Ledger Entries
Lot Ledger Entries now appear wherever you'd expect to find them — in Posting Preview before you post, and via Find Entries on any posted document or G/L Register.
Other enhancements
Customer Experience
- The No. of Resolved Service Issues flow-field and cue have been added to the Inspections and Lots pages. Both No. of Service Issues and No. of Resolved Service Issues now drill down to the Service Issues page — a count you can click to open the list.
- The Populate action on the Model Budget page now asks for your confirmation before populating budget lines from cost details.
- The No. of Items flow-field column has been added to the Construction Item Categories page — a count you can click to see the items in that category.
- On the Global Vendor Bank Accounts page, you can now remove the Vendor filter.
- Copying Construction Items from another company now shows a summary count of inserts and updates rather than a warning for every item.
- The Vendor Name flow-field column has been added to 13 pages that display planning lines.
- On 10 pages that display planning lines, the Remaining Qty. field now drills down to the Lot Ledger Entries page, showing the entries posted for that planning line.
- In the HomeBuilder Executive role center, three main menu actions have been updated because the original standard reports became obsolete in newer versions of Business Central: Trial Balance is now Trial Balance (Excel), Aged Accounts Payables is now Aged Accounts Payables (Excel), and Aged Accounts Receivables is now Aged Accounts Receivables (Excel).
- The HomeBuilder Inspector role center now includes an Ongoing Purchases section with Purchase Requests and Pending Purchase Requests cues.
Reports & Exports
- The Deficiency Completion report has been renamed to Deficiency Completion by Lot. A Vendor filter has been added, and the customer address is now taken from the Lot rather than the Customer record.
- A new Deficiency Completion by Vendor report has been added. Both reports are available in the HomeBuilder Executive, HomeBuilder Admin, HomeBuilder Inspector, and HomeBuilder Site Super role centers under HomeBuilder → After-sales Service → Reports.
- The Lot Date Matrix page now includes a new Export to Excel (JS) action — an alternative Excel export that does not require macros. To distribute the report, save the generated Excel file and send it manually.
Expanded Capabilities
- You can now delete Planning Lines even when they are marked as Released for POE.
- The Base Calendar Code field has been added to the Key Date Analysis Views and Key Date Analysis View Card pages.
Corrections
- The Send Deficiencies to Vendors page now respects the permission-based filtering assigned to your user.
- Bug Fix: Cost-related fields on the Model Item Variant Costs page are now always editable, regardless of which columns are currently visible.
- Bug Fix: The Answer field on the Inspection Checklist page is now always editable, regardless of whether the Outcome Type column is visible.
- Bug Fix: The Set Markup action on the Phase Item Variants page is now always available, regardless of which columns are visible.
- Bug Fix: On the Planning Lines page, the Report as Done action now applies to all selected records.
- Bug Fix: When copying one Construction Workflow Template to another, the Décor Workflow field is now copied correctly.
- When a Service Work Order Line is deleted or a Service Work Order is canceled, HomeBuilder now clears the link to the associated Planning Line from the corresponding Service Issue.
- A total of 78 error messages across 34 objects have been revised to be clearer and more helpful.
