What's new for HomeBuilder users

Purchase Requests — fewer clicks, more visibility

Customers ask for a faster path from a Purchase Request to a Work Order, and clearer visibility into how the two connect. This release delivers both.

Turn Purchase Request lines into a Work Order in one step. Open the Purchase Request Card, select the Purchase Request Lines you want to plan, and click the new Create Planning Lines and WO action. The system creates the Planning Lines for you and a Work Order in the same click — you no longer have to build the Work Order yourself afterwards.

See where each line is headed without leaving the Purchase Request. You'll see two new fields on Purchase Request Lines: Work Order No. and Work Order Line No. Click either field to drill straight through to the Work Order Card, so you can check the work order without losing your place.

Trace a Planning Line back to where it came from. Planning Lines now carry the Purchase Request No. and Purchase Request Line No. of the line they came from. You'll see those fields on the Planning Lines and Lot Planning Lines pages, and on the pages opened by the Populate from Planning Lines action in purchase documents, purchase requests, and work orders. No more guessing where a Planning Line originated.

Get to your Planning Lines from the Purchase Requests page. Jump straight to Planning Lines from the Purchase Requests and Purchase Request Card pages. You'll find a new Planning Lines action, a FactBox cue showing the count, and a No. of Planning Lines column on the Purchase Requests list. Click the count to drill into the Planning Lines page.

Other improvements

Pick House Areas and Color Chart items more flexibly on Lot Selection Choices. Two lookups on Lot Selection Choices are more forgiving now:

  • House Area lookup. When you haven't specified a Construction Item Category for a choice, the lookup shows you every House Area for the selected Lot.
  • Item No. lookup. You can pick any Color Chart item, even ones not normally available for the selected Model and House Area. Click Show All Items when you need the full list.

Find Mark as Read and Mark as Un-read on Service Issues. If you've been hunting for these actions on Inspections, look on Service Issues instead. They fit better with the rest of that workflow.

Send emails to Global Vendors the same way you do for any vendor. The Document Layouts page for Global Vendors now matches the standard Business Central Vendor Document Layouts. Choose the Email Body Layout and Email Attachment Layout you want, and tick Use for Email Attachment to control which layout becomes the attachment.

See your work without searching for it on the Site Super role center. The HomeBuilder Site Super role center surfaces the work that needs your attention. New cues:

Operations

  • Construction Work Orders (All)
  • Construction Work Orders (Issued)
  • Construction Work Orders (New)
  • Construction Work Orders (Reported)

Pending Approvals

  • Requests Sent for Approval
  • Requests to Approve

Add Notes and Links everywhere you'd expect them. The Notes and Links FactBox now lives on these pages — the same shortcut, in every place you'd reach for it:

  • Construction Items
  • Construction Item Card
  • Phases
  • Phase Card
  • Models
  • Model Card
  • Construction Work Orders
  • Service Work Order
  • Work Order Card
  • POEs
  • POE Card
  • Purchase Requests
  • Purchase Request Card

See vendor names on G/L Entries. The G/L Entries page shows a calculated Vendor Name column, so you don't have to cross-reference the vendor number to know who you paid.

Fixes

Lot Selection Package totals now include every choice. Lot Selection Package totals now use all selection choices — Standard, Extra, and Upgrade — so the package amount and tax reflect the full lot.

You can add records to the Cost Details list again. A recent Business Central change blocked inserts to the Default Dimension table for extension tables, which broke adding Cost Details. We've added the missing support, so this works as expected again.

Print the Trade Extras report with Indirect permissions. If you have Indirect permissions on the Object Options table, you can now print the Trade Extras report.
